Winners & Pet Show Galleries

If you would like to submit more than one entry to each class, or enter multiple classes here’s how!
Click “Enter the Shows” and either the Dog, Cat, All Creatures or Rainbow Bridge category. Then click the drop down menu and select the class you would like to enter and the number of entries (apologies, our website is unable to process more than two before needing to be added to the basket) so select two and fill these in, making sure every field is complete. Then click “add to basket” and then select the other classes you would like to enter.

Due to the situation with COVID 19 we have had to cancel our ever-popular Dog Show and our Fun Day which was scheduled to be held at Ashton Court 6th September. However, we are thrilled to announce that we are instead hosting an Online Pet Show meaning you and your pets can take part from the comfort of your own homes! There are lots of original classes for all different species of animals and every penny raised will help rescues waiting to find their forever home at Holly Hedge, so we hope to see all of your beloved pets taking part!

£2 per entry/photo, with the chance to win amazing prizes for 1st and 2nd place, all 3rd place runners up receive a rosette and certificate. To see the prizes click here!

Entries open from 6pm on Wednesday 5th August until August 31st at 10pm, winners of All Creatures Great and Small will be announced on the 4th September, Cat winners on the 5th September and winners of the Dog Classes 6th September! Once we have processed the entries, we will be sending them all off to our judges. When they have made the tough decisions, we will contact all the winners directly and announce them on Facebook and our website. Dog Show Classes

Always the hardest category to judge, because every rescue is a life saved, but we want to see your beautiful, silly, funny dogs! You don’t have to have rescued from Holly Hedge to enter this category, so if you want to show the world your amazing rescue here’s your chance!

Like a good wine, beauty comes with age, and we want to see those grey muzzles and beautiful wise faces! Like the tortoise and the hare, slow and steady can win the race to your heart!

Snaggle tooth? Lopsided grin? Scraggly ears or missing an eye? We want to celebrate all the things that put people off in a tinder bio but make your wonderfully wonky dog even more special. Read more about the wonderful work Five Rivers Child Care do here.

Has someone been helping you a lot whilst you’re working from home? Maybe they’ve been telling the printer off when it’s clearly attacking you, or been taking care of the kids whilst you have just five minutes peace. It could be that they’re so happy to be spending so much time with you that just by looking at them they brighten your whole day up. We want to see the dogs that have made being at home so much better.

You’ve explained the two-metre rule over and over, but are still waking up with your furry friend two inches from your face! Show us your adorable space invaders who have no concept of what social distancing means.

An upside-down face is when a dog lies down on their back and then looks up at you with a goofy, chinny grin, lips fallen back revealing those pearly whites. When you say “what on earth are you like?” their tail thuds on the sofa because they know they’re being silly.

Some dogs are just devastatingly gorgeous, so much so that every photo could be used as a cover of a magazine! We want to see the Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and of dogs

Take it to the runway! Strutting their way down the cat walk, we’re looking for the slinkiest model in town, get the lockdown look!

We want to see those soft little toebeans that make your heart melt! Whether they’re fluffy, speckled or just look like soft marshmallows we want to see them all!

All Creatures Great and Small Show Classes

Over the Rainbow Bridge Category – Open To All Animals

For those who have gone but will never be forgotten, this is a very special category open to every animal. Here is a place to celebrate a life that is cherished and knew complete love. This category is free to enter and will not be judged.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Participants are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. Holly Hedge reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.
  2. You must be aged 16 or over to enter.
  3. All photo entries must be of your own pet, or a pet you have permission to enter.
  4. Comments and likes on social media will be taken into consideration for winning entries, but final decisions will be made by an impartial Judge who has not entered the online pet show.
  5. The competition is open from 6pm on Wednesday 5th August until 10pm on Monday 31st August 2020.
  6. It is £2 per pet, per category to enter. A pet can be submitted for more than one class and up to two times in any one class.
  7. Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary accepts no responsibility or liability for any injuries or damage suffered during filming or photographing of the entries and reserves the right to remove any images that are deemed inappropriate or appear to compromise the welfare of any animal.
  8. Please note that all prizes will be able to be collected from Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary for free or posted at an additional charge to the UK Mainland only. £3 postage will apply for the Cats and All Creatures Great and Small 1st and 2nd place winners and free for 3rd place runners up. £4.50 postage will apply for the winners of Dog 1st and 2nd place winners free for 3rd place runners up.
  9. If your entry includes an image of an identifiable person, by submitting your entry you are confirming you have obtained their consent to post your photograph, or their guardian’s consent where the identifiable person is under 16.
  10. By submitting an entry to the online pet show you give Holly Hedge permission to share the photo on social media and our website.
  11. Please note that Holly Hedge reserves the right to crop the photos for compatibility purposes i.e. the online gallery. We will do our utmost to keep the integrity of the photograph and keep the animal photographed the center of focus.
  12. Prizes are kindly donated by Forthglade, Lily’s Kitchen or were donated by a supporter specifically for the Online Pet Show. Please note Holly Hedge refuses liability for any prize and prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and no cash alternative is available or offered.
