A Letter from our Founder

Dear Friends of Holly Hedge

In the current COVID-19 crisis situation I would like to personally express my gratitude for the overwhelming help and support from all our friends and supporters, which is appreciated more than words can say. Holly Hedge has overcome many obstacles since its inception, but this is the first time we have had no choice other than to temporarily close our gates, and it saddens me immensely that we have had to take this drastic action.

In the face of adversity, although we are having to change the way we operate on a daily basis, you can all rest assured that our rescues are still receiving the greatest care and enrichment possible. Every one of them who had reserves and home checks passed are now in their lovely new homes, and others have been placed with foster carers, so those who are still with us can get as much individual attention as our dedicated staff can lavish upon them. If there are genuine emergencies we will not turn our back on them, that we promise.

We have had to cancel or postpone all our Summer fundraising events except our Fun Day, which we are still currently working on and keeping in our calendars as something to look forward to. Our incredible Events Volunteer Team has put so much hard work, time and effort into organising our annual events, which are postponed for now, with dates to be released later in the year.

The aftermath of this crisis will have a huge impact on every aspect of the future of Holly Hedge financially, but there will always be hurdles to overcome, which we will face head on as we always do, and fight relentlessly to continue to remain a safe haven for our precious rescues as we cannot contemplate letting them down.

In all the present uncertainty and fear you, our wonderful supporters, have given us so much hope, positivity and encouragement to face the inevitable uphill struggle – and we will survive because we have a tower of strength behind us, and all the love in the world for the animals needing our help now more than ever.

Thank you all once again from the bottom of our hearts for being there for us and our rescues. It is so very humbling. Please stay safe and well people as you are very important to all your 4 and 2 legged friends at Holly Hedge!

With my very best wishes,

Pauline Leeson
