We are having a new car park constructed and the existing entrance and car park between the entrance and the houses resurfaced.
The work in the car park is being financed by a project called “The Meadow Trust”, see here for further information, which is turning our lovely field into a wildlife sanctuary and wild flower meadow. Ironically, while funding is available for biodiversity projects of this nature it is impossible to obtain funding for the general animal welfare activities of Holly Hedge. However, the Meadow Trust project is allowing us to improve the drive and car park and has allowed us to install secure fencing as well as creating much needed visitor parking and fencing to protect the Bat Folly and Pond. It is thus benefiting the sanctuary by providing these much needed facilities without impacting on sanctuary funding.
The programme of the works is as follows:
Week Commencing Monday 3rd December 2018
Work will be starting on the new car park in the adjacent field.
This will not affect the entrance and existing car parks and the sanctuary will be open as normal.
Week Commencing Monday 10th December 2018
Work will be carried out on preparing the entrance and existing car park between the entrance and the houses for resurfacing.
The Sanctuary will be open, but car parking will be limited
Tuesday 18th December 2018 – The Sanctuary will be closed All Day
While the entrance and car park between the entrance and the houses is resurfaced – Subject to the weather.
This page will be updated if the programme changes.
