On Friday 21st February, Evie didn’t return to her home as usual and the following day we were informed of her tragic death. Evie was adopted from Holly Hedge with her sister Kiki in November 2018 when they were kittens. This poor little cat was found in Chessel Drive, Patchway on the Charlton Hayes Estate. Evie, a sweet and loving little soul who lived happily with her family and sibling, was very much loved and in a wonderful home with people who adored her. She trusted humans as she had only ever known kindness in her short life – until the evil, sadistic perpetrators targeted her and so cruelly ended her life. The sadness we feel for dear little Evie and her grieving family is overwhelming, and all of us at Holly Hedge are grieving with them and are totally devastated by this heartbreaking news.
What cowardly low life scum of the earth would commit such a heinous crime on a defenceless creature who had never harmed anyone and only ever wanted to be friendly? Whoever they are I hope they get what they deserve, but sadly that won’t bring Evie back.
We would also ask that anyone owning a cat in and around the Patchway area be vigilant and try to keep a close watch on their cats, and ensure that they are kept in overnight as soon as it gets dark – there are some evil, dysfunctional apologies for human beings out there who are preying on defenceless animals!
To Evie’s family – our hearts go out to you – we are thinking of you and share your grief. Thank you for giving her a wonderful home.
