Please adopt Boots.

Boots has sadly been with us for a little while now.  Unfortunately she hasn’t had the best start in life, and is carrying some trauma, making her a complex little lady.  Boots arrived at Holly Hedge with her 1 week old kitten, and we soon discovered that she was heavily pregnant again.  She had a difficult birth, and not all her babies made it, which was very sad.  Understandably, dealing with being in a new place, having more little ones, and suffering loss, poor Boots was very possessive over her babies  and didn’t welcome any human interaction.  On top of everything else, Boots came to us with a limp and dead tail.  This had to be amputated, but is now all healed.

With a patient and caring cattery team working on building up a good relationship with Boots, we now feel that with a training plan put in place, it’s time to start looking for a new home for Boots.  With her babies having long flown the nest, Boots is ready to find her own ‘Happy furever after’.

For Boots we are looking for an adult only, calm, quiet and patient home.  With someone/people with experience of undesirable behaviour and anxiety in cats.  A place where Boots can slowly build bonds with people, and where she can feel safe. Over time Boots will reward you by initiating interaction, and will even get on a lap for a while.  But there can still be times when her anxiety can build, and she may lash out at the closest person.

Boots would really benefit from having the option of her own room as a calm, safe space where she can take herself if she is feeling too overwhelmed.  If you have the experience, patience and understanding to help Boots find her ’happy place’ please contact the rehoming team for more information.  Thank you so much.

To apply for Boots, please email  [email protected]   stating your current situation & working hours and reasons for wanting to foster or adopt her.  Please note, we can only accept applications that match her needs.  Therefore, also consider if your work hours and situation will still be suitable on a long term basis.  Thank you.
