Minnie
My husband and I (then fiancé) adopted Minnie from Holly Hodge back in 2018. We had only driven by when my husband said “we should pop in and see what cats need rehoming, just to take a look”. I knew then, that I would not be walking out of HH without wanting to adopt at least 1 cat.
I saw this one year old black and white cat at HH called Minnie and on the description it said she as an escape artist and brought in for being a little too boisterous but was very loving. We both went into see her and looking into those adorable eyes I knew I had to have her and give her a forever home! She was clambering all over us and purring like mad! She definitely had a personality and it broke my heart having to leave her behind as all the adoption paperwork needed to be filled out and there was an adoption process to follow.
Fast forward a few weeks and getting her home was one of the best days ever! She really settled in and that’s when her personality really come out. She is fiercely independent and can be a little feisty but when she wants cuddles you know about it. She loves nothing more than cosying up at night and loves a warm lap! She has mellowed a little in the 3 years we have had her and if you are lucky she even rolls on her back and lets you kiss her fluffy white stomach – a rarity!
She has been such a comfort for me during lockdown and whilst working from home and we have bonded more and more. I love her to bits and I am so glad that we have managed to give her a wonderful home. She lives the life of Riley and definitely rules the roost.
If you are thinking about adopting and can offer a warm, safe, cosy home then you really should. Animals give so much back and love you unconditionally. They really are amazing!
We are so glad Minnie decided to clamber all over her ‘pawrents’ when they first came to visit – she clearly knew she was onto a good thing and made a first-class choice!
