Sweet Mauri came to us after not getting on with the cats in the home. Mauri has come all the way from Mauritius where he frequented hotels for food and attention. This gorgeous boy initially felt quite cooped up and overstimulated when he first arrived at the sanctuary, but with regular access to the garden and being given activities, he has settled in. He loves human attention and paws up at you to get some! He’s starting to love play with toys, especially spinning balls and string toys!
Mauri loves his food, he is quite motivated so he does love having enrichment through slow feeders and snuffle mats. He enjoys cuddling or snuggling up next to you and having some chin rubs. He can get overstimulated at times, when he doesn’t know how to deal with his emotions, so can nip. But this is easily managed by understanding when he has had enough attention, and though giving him space to roam and plenty of activities to keep his mind busy. He does have a congenital eye issue which he was born with, but this is not causing him any pain, and he just needs regular eye drops to keep his eyes clean.
Mauri is such a sweet boy who just wants a loving home to relax and play in whilst he settles into life in the UK! Can you give Mauri the loving home he deserves? Please contact the rehoming team for more information if you would like to meet this lovely boy. Thank you so much.
If you are interested in Mauri, a number of meets will be required so that a basic bond can be made with him, and to help with a smoother transition. Help is always there when needed via phone calls and emails.
