Meet Dexter, the drop dead gorgeous Dachshund!
Dexter is a lovely standard Dachshund who is looking for a new home as he is struggling with the adjustment of a new extended family. He does love older children, but finds the uncertainty and unpredictability of younger children a bit much. So children of 12+ would be perfect for him.
Dexter is your typical Dachshund, he is super smart and loves to use his brain and nose, so a home that will challenge his senses with puzzle toys and games is a must. He has an active mind and is a curious dog, which can sometimes lead to him being nosy and alerting everyone to new comings and goings outside the home. Dexter loves his walks and is great on the lead. He will not tolerate bad mannered dogs, so his owner usually gives him space to ensure that he has a worry free walk. Although Dexter’s recall is good, new owners need to be aware that being a typical Dachshund he does have a prey drive so will need to be on a lead around live stock.
