Please adopt Phoebe (Romanian Crossbreed)

Meet Phoebe, our one of a kind, Romanian crossbreed! Phoebe was originally transported over from Romania and went straight into a home. Unfortunately this didn’t work out as Phoebe struggled to adapt to life in a home and she ended up coming to us.

Phoebe is the sweetest girl once she gets to know you and always makes us laugh.  She has heaps of character and never fails to put a smile on our faces!  She’s super smart and knows loads of tricks and also loves having activities to do and toys to play with.  She loves going for long walks around the woods and having a good zoom around our secure fields. But she also loves to have a good nap and sunbathe too – the perfect balance!  Phoebe is good with most dogs and has made lots of dog friends here at the sanctuary, though she’s still learning her manners in some situations.

Having originally come from Romania, we do not know the start that Phoebe had in life.  What we do know is that dogs from overseas can struggle to adapt to the changes of living in a home environment as they are used to a lot more freedom overseas and have more control over their choices.  Because of this, we are looking for a calm, quiet, more rural home for Phoebe so that she is away from the hustle and bustle of city life and can find her feet in an environment where she feels safe.

We have no idea how Phoebe was treated prior to arriving in the UK but she can take a while to warm around to new people.  Therefore we are looking for a calm, patient person (preferably with some experience with Romanian rescues).  Someone who is willing to take their time to gain Phoebe’s trust and build a good relationship with her so that she feels safe and happy.  In her previous home, Phoebe did show an exaggerated sleep startle reflex and therefore will need her own room to sleep in separate to her humans.

Going into a new home will likely be a big adjustment for Phoebe.  So we will provide her adopters with full support to make her transition into a home as smooth as possible.  We’ll be on hand to offer any ongoing behavioural advice that is needed.

To apply for Phoebe, please email  info@hollyhedge.org.uk  stating your current situation & working hours and reasons for wanting to adopt her.  Please note, we can only accept applications that match her needs.  Therefore, please also consider if your work hours and situation will still be suitable on a long term basis.  Thank you.
