Please adopt Tobi (Shar-Pei)

Meet the gorgeous Tobi!  Being a typical Shar-pei, Tobi can be shy when he first meets someone, but he is very food motivated so nothing a treat doesn’t fix!  He loves exploring the outdoors as long as his feet aren’t getting to wet!  He’s a super smart boy and loves any enrichment based puzzles.

Tobi can take a while to warm up to a new person, but once he knows you he’s fine, though he doesn’t like being over handled.  If he feels uncomfortable he will growl and choose to move away – this is because he was very overwhelmed when he came into us.  This beautiful boy has been able to socialise and make some doggy friends here at the sanctuary.

Tobi came into us because he was escaping from the house, but he is able to walk off lead in our secure fields and is fine in our gardens off lead too.  We haven’t seen him make any attempt to escape.  He has been health checked by our vet and has a clean bill of health.  He doesn’t have as prominent face and body wrinkles that most Shar-Peis do, so they don’t need regular cleaning but just maintaining every so often with cleaning wipes.

We have found that Tobi does have a strong prey drive.  So for Tobi we are looking for an experienced Shar-Pei owner, as he has very strong breed traits.
