Gus

There’s nothing we like more than being able to share these incredible ‘Happy Ever Afters’ and we have also been sent this lovely update on Gus, who arrived at Holly Hedge as a stray, rather worse for wear and very nervous of people and his new surroundings. Gus was with us for quite some time until he struck gold with his ‘furever home’ where he has blossomed into a happy and confident chap and is now living like a king!

Here’s what his doting owner had to say about him……

I wanted to give you an update since we adopted Gus in December 2020. I thought it would be impossible to love another cat since losing our dear Pops in February 2020. But the void took over so started the search. My daughter found Gus on your website so looking at his face and being a stray for the last 3 years took a leap of faith. It was hard not meeting him before to see if he liked us too! We kept him in for 8 weeks as recommended and were terrified that when he could go out, his street roaming days would take over. Couldn’t have been further from the truth. I will never forget when he used to go out, I’d close the back door and he would look bereft. If I put him on my bed he would jump straight down. I’m happy to say he now loves my bed, his basket and various other blankets at his disposal! He loves to chill in the garden but still stays close to home. I am his chosen person and can’t tell you how much I adore this boy! He is safe, happy and a wee bit more streamlined but not through lack of food offerings. For a stray he’s quite particular! He will remain loved and adored, so thank you.

We think it’s safe to assume that handsome Gus has definitely put his straying days well and truly behind him and is just loving his home comforts!
